Dear farmer,

It is a new season and I believe it gives you new hope for your new endeavours in Farming and Agribusiness as much as it gives us. I am a farmer too and wish to share with you, farmer, the attitude and expectations for the new season.

The New season shows signs of good things to come, good yield, new and successful farming initiatives, fresh challenges and lessons, improvement in environmental conditions and many others. However, it takes a farmer with a deeper insight and a strong will to cause the necessary positive impacts.

As you plan or about to plant, or even if you are considering not to be a farmer this season, I would like you to consider these.

  1. Never give up

One very typical characteristic of farmers is our relentlessness. The never-give-up attitude causes the farmer to go back to the field after a season of disappointment. Unpredictable rains, insufficient funds, disease outbreak and all the negatives will always try to challenge your strong will to succeed. We learn from these and so we get better. Let’s farm again this season.

  2. Think “Smart Farming”

Smart farming will not only give the profits of money from agriculture. It is a better and sustainable way of farming which improves the environment in which we live. Adopting smart agricultural technologies helps to address issues related to climate change, improvement of soil for an increase in yield, reducing the cost of production, etc. Know more about smart farming.

  3. Learn and learn and learn

Learn from yourself, others and everywhere. I am not only talking about formal training in farming. Information is key to the improvement of any farming venture. You can rely on information from your own farming experience and from the experiences of other farmers, either accomplished or starters. Just be interested in learning each day, from planning to implementation. Learn and take advantage of technology trends in agriculture.

  4. Start something farming

Simply, start something farming. Put the plan to work. Start, no matter how small. It doesn’t have to be costly. Do not repeat the popular excuse of “no resources”. Take that bold step. It has to start now. If you need motivation and direction, contact us. We are glad to help.

  5. Improve and grow

There are a number of resources you can take advantage of in your Farming and Agribusiness. You can access free support, in-depth information on agriculture, promote agribusiness and many more.

I wish you all the best in the new season Farming and Agribusiness and be expecting pleasant surprises from Agrihome this season.

Sincerely,

K. Afrane Okese
